The Worship Page is based on formal weekly passages of Scripture which readers can use to meditate or pray on, and also use as a pattern on which to worship God, as in a regular weekly church service.
The Church year is divided according to the classical tradition of the reformed church with each Sunday given a specific name and assigned special readings from the Holy Bible.
These Readings are usually a reading from one of the Epistles (books or letters) of the Apostles together with a reading from one of the four Holy Gospels of St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John.
The Readings will be preceded by, and tied together, by a special Prayer that will sum up the thoughts and themes arising from the two Readings, and will praise God, seeking His Blessing through The Lord Jesus Christ. This special Prayer is called a “Collect” as it collects our thoughts and expresses them in prayer.
Each Sunday’s Readings are accompanied by a simple presentation by Bishop Ian, in which he will explain the Scripture Readings and share his thoughts with readers.
